Who is Play Therapy For?

In the same way that we all find we need to talk to someone sometimes all children can benefit from play therapy. While this is true, some of the common reasons children may come to see a play therapist include:

  • Aggressive and/or hyperactive behaviours
  • Withdrawn behaviours
  • Childhood depression
  • Anxiety
  • Birth trauma
  • Childhood abuse and neglect
  • Medical trauma and/or experiences
  • Accidents, illness or injury

  • Family changes including separation and divorce
  • Foster, adoption and identity issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Disability and or developmental Delay
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder  (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

If you are unsure if Play Therapy would be suitable for your child please don’t hesitate in contacting us. We are always happy to talk further about individual needs and help work out if Play Therapy is right for you.
